Selling refurbished iPhones is an important part of Apple’s business in the U.S., with the inclusion of European consumers opening up new options for them to purchase “like new” phones that have been checked and guaranteed by the manufacturer itself.
Apple announces a new “Certified Refurbished” option available to European consumers when purchasing refurbished iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro phones. To start, the program is available to buyers in the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Compared to purchasing iPhones on the used market, copies shipped by Apple under the Certified Refurbished program come guaranteed with the outer casing completely replaced or with no visible signs of wear and tear, a replaced battery, a manufacturer’s warranty on all internal components, and the latest version of pre-applied firmware with no security protections still active for the previous user. Apple offers assurances that all devices offered for sale are pre-tested and fully functional. However, unlike buying a brand new iPhone 13, the one with the Certified Refurbished label only comes with a 1-year warranty.
As for the savings, depending on the model you select and the country you order from, choosing an Apple refurbished iPhone can cut between €120 and €280 off the “new” price. Although, not as advantageous as some of the deals available on the HS market, this option comes virtually risk-free for the buyer.
