Oppo Find X6 Pro could use 1″ Sony IMX989 sensor on main camera

The Oppo Find series has become very important in recent years especially in the area of photo performance, being among the few in the market to adopt a proprietary image processor, along with a renowned partner in the area of optics and photography: Hasselblad. Thus, it was expected that Oppo would go in the direction of generational improvements on the next series, the Find X6, but the changes seem to be major year-on-year, according to new unofficial information.

Previously, Digital Chat Station, a well-known Chinese leaker specializing in smartphone industry information, revealed that Oppo wants to integrate a 1″ sensor from Sony, the IMX989 model we’ve also seen on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. It will be re found on the Find X6 Pro, according to Digital Chat Station and now this information is being brought back to the forefront by Ice Universe, another known leaker. He too says that the 1″ sensor will be integrated on the new phone, but he didn’t talk about the other cameras.

The highest version of OPPO Find X6 uses 1″ Sony IMX989. With its extremely high quality, it smashes all ISOCELL sensors. Only Samsung is playing the 200MP ultra-high pixel solution. High-end CIS is still the world of Sony.

Digital Chat Station said the new Find X6 Pro will have no less than three 50-megapixel cameras, one for each perspective: ultrawide, wide and tele. The Find X6, however, will drop the resolution of the zoom camera to 32 megapixels, while keeping the resolution of the other two. However, the large sensor on the main camera is not expected on the lower model.

It now remains to be seen whether that 1-inch sensor will make a difference in the market, as quality photos and videos on smartphones are now less about the hardware and physical capabilities of the lenses and sensors and more about how the information captured by them is processed. But this is where the proprietary MariSilicon co-processor, which is made specifically to analyse and process this data to ensure the most detailed shots, should help.
