Lidl frequently brings in novel battery-powered products. Recently, the supermarket chain offered a battery-powered electric saw and a cordless electric screwdriver equipped with a USB-C port.
This week the company will sell a cordless steam iron under its own Silvercrest brand starting Thursday. For most people, this product probably won’t replace a regular iron. But the medium-sized device can be taken on trips or used by those in a hurry who need to quickly iron something simpler, like a shirt or pants.
The iron can be used, when it has no battery, with the charging cord plugged in. The charging station allows the appliance to be plugged in at any position, 360 degrees. The cable is 190 cm long.

The iron has a self-cleaning function and an anti-puncture system.
The appliance has 2,400 W of power and the water tank has a capacity of 320 ml. Included in the box is a plastic water cup showing the maximum amount that can be put into the device.
The battery-operated iron will cost nearly 100 lei and will come with a 3-year warranty.
