9GAG teases the launch of its own meme corner

9GAG plans to issue the MEME cryptocurrency. The pioneer of memes has already successfully launched several NFT collections via his studio Memeland.

This Wednesday on Twitter, the co-founder and CEO of 9GAG said that his company planned to issue its own meme corner.

There’s a lot of speculation about Meme Coin (aka $MEME ) these days. YES, WE’LL BE LAUNCHING $MEME SOON. (Probably)”, wrote Ray Chan.

The executive went on to say that 9GAG was careful to navigate this ecosystem. Many tokens were/are launched with poor legal structures. They put all the risks on their owners”, he explained, pointing out that this type of project had no long-term future.

In spring 2022, 9GAG unveiled Memelanda venture capital studio focused on the Web3. The latter has since launched 3 NFT collectionsincluding The Captainz and You The Real Mvpa series of 420 tokens whose floor price is currently around 55 ETH.

We must plan and act accordingly when our goal is to make Memeland a successful Web3 company and Meme Coin
a leading token. As much as we like to think of ourselves as ‘outlaws’, we’re not,” added Ray Chan.

In recent weeks, in the wake of the explosion in PEPE’s share price, the meme coins have made the headlines. This type of token generally has no use and is therefore dedicated to pure speculation.
