16-year-old dies after participating in TikTok challenge -.

Christy Sibali Dominique Gloire Gassaille, a 16-year-old French girl, has died after participating in the “scarf game” TikTok challenge.

The challenge sees participants wrap a scarf around their neck and tighten it to choke themselves. This then continues until they pass out. Because it cuts off oxygen to the brain, this challenge is incredibly dangerous.

TikTok has been working to stop the spread of these choking challenges, as if you search scarf game on the platform, you will see the following message. “This phrase may be associated with behavior or content that violates our guidelines. Gassaille passed away in late May and her funeral was held this month.
