R.I.P. ACE

Not again……Not this.  It seems like last week when I wrote the piece about one of my favorite young pitchers Jose Fernandez being killed in an accident.  And yet, for some cruel reason, here I am again.  Looking at a screen.  Trying to find words that explain what happened to one of my favorite hometown guys, Yordano Ventura.  Ace.  YO.  The Kid.  is gone.  Killed in a...

Royals Fill a Need But Weaken Their Bullpen

What was first being reported yesterday as a possibility, is now a reality.  The Kansas City Royals have traded the Cyborg, Wade Davis, to the Chicago Cubs for Right Fielder Jorge Soler.    This is an interesting trade from both sides. Royals Fans were not thrilled at losing one of the most dominant relief pitchers of the last 4 years, and Cubs fans were not keen on giving up on a guy with 30+ homerun potential so...

Miami Marlins Pitcher Jose Fernandez Killed in Boating Accident

It is truly with a heavy heart I write this piece on one of my favorite pitchers in the Major Leagues, and his passing Saturday Night.  Cuban Born Pitcher Jose Fernandez and two other men were killed in what the Coast Guard is calling a boating accident.  Fernandez was scheduled to start today's game vs. the Atlanta Braves, but was pushed back one day for tomorrow's start before the incident occured. ...

There’s No Place Like Home

After a road trip that started off with a two game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Royals finished up a disappointing 3-5 after visits to Philadelphia and Toronto.  The Royals are an abysmal 16-30 on the road this season.  A road winning percentage of .348 is good for third to last in the MLB behind only the Twins, and Reds.  To put this in perspective the Atlanta Braves, who are widely considered the worst team...

Shame on the Royals Fans…….For Being Fans

Here we are again.  Another baseball season underway, and another "call out" of Royals Fans for "stuffing" the ballot boxes in the All-Star runnings. Yesterday the American League preliminary results came out, and Royals fans had yet again put their stamp on the vote.  Salvador Perez is currently the lead vote getter in the AL, and if things ended today Eric Hosmer, and Lorenzo Cain would also be...
