Thanks to the Rabla Program, the Romanian car market continued to grow in 2022. Here are the figures.

According to DRPCIV data, the month of March brought a total increase in the car market of 25.93%, with a total volume of 15,450 registered vehicles, with more than 3,000 more than last year, in the same month. The car segment registered a volume of 11,025 units, which represents an increase of not less than 40.25% compared to March 2021.

Thus, for the first time in the last two years, the 2019 level of the car market is exceeded. In terms of the best-selling brands, in March, they were Dacia, with 2494 units, which managed a 40% increase over last year’s volume, followed by Ford, which almost sales doubled, by 983 units, compared to 518, which was recorded in 2020. Toyota is 865 units, 50% more, and Hyundai follows, with 863 units, 58% more.

Moreover, the Dacia Duster was the best-selling car (according to registrations), with 678 units. This shows that people want this model a lot, but the price is what keeps Romanians away. In second place was the electric model Spring (637 units), which returns with good sales, once Rabla began to offer the subsidy equivalent to half of its price. The popular Dacia Logan finishes the podium with 612 units, followed by Ford Puma (514 units) and Sandero (435 units).

In conclusion, after three months of this year, the market for new cars has grown by almost 40%, with a total volume of 29,000 registered units.
