The Royals were able to win their game versus the White Sox today by a score of 7-6 The Royals had 2 games today this one being the Royals home game in Suprise.

The Royals started off slow and Foster Griffin did not have the best outing. The scoring started for the Sox in the top of the 2nd when Andrew Romine drove in Jaycob Brugman on an RBI single. Later that same inning Adam Engel hit a 3 run HR off of Griffin to make it 4-0 White Sox. Chicago starter Matt Tomshaw was able to keep the Royals scoreless during his time in the game.

Bubba Starling continued his hot spring hitting a solo HR off of Carson Fulmer in the bottom of 4th. Bubba is really needing to make an impact this season to not get replaced by younger options. Thus far he is doing a great job fighting for his spot and proving he belongs.

Another player that has been pretty successful so far is Ryan McBroom who drove in Humberto Arteaga in the bottom of the 6th to make the game 4-2 Chicago. McBroom is trying to compete for the 1B job and with a strong spring could claim the job. Erick Mejia also drove in Ryan McBroom in the bottom of the 6th bringing the Royals within one. With the bases loaded OF prospect, Kyle Isbel singled clearing the bases due to an error but Chicago’s centerfielder making the game 6-5 Royals.

In the bottom of the 7th, Emmanuel Rivera drove in Bubba Starling to make it 7-5. The White Sox struck back in the 8th with a groundout by Laz Rivera that scored Gavin Sheets.

On the pitching side, Greg Holland got his 2nd win of spring training. As stated earlier Foster Griffin struggled but it is still early. Zimmer improved from his last outing but still gave up a run. Glenn Sparkman pitched 2 perfect innings hopefully that can continue as he pitches in the bullpen this season.

Royals look to get back over .500 versus the Milwaukee Brewers at 2:05.
