Ranking the Royals: Home Runs from Both Sides of the Plate

On July 2, 2016, Kendrys Morales made history by becoming only the sixth player in franchise history to hit home runs from both sides of the plate in a single game, helping the Royals win 6-2 over the Phillies in Philadelphia. The following are all of the times a Royals player has hit from both sides of the plate in a single game:

Willie Wilson – June 15, 1979 @ Milwaukee
1st – Right Side off Mike Caldwell in 6th inning with two on and two outs
2nd – Left Side off Bill Castro in 9th inning with two on and two outs

U L Washington – September 21, 1979 @ Oakland
1st – Left Side off Rick Langford in 2nd inning with two on and two outs
2nd – Right Side off Craig Minetto in 3rd inning with two on and out out

Carlos Beltran – June 29, 2000 against Cleveland
1st – Left Side off Bartolo Colon in 4th inning with no one on and one out
2nd – Right Side off Andrew Lorraine in 6th inning with no one on and no outs

Carlos Beltran – September 6, 2002 against Seattle
1st – Left Side off Freddy Garcia in 3rd inning with no one on and no outs
2nd – Right Side off John Halama in 7th inning with no one on and no outs

Wilson Betemit – June 10, 2010 @ Minnesota
1st – Left Side off Scott Baker in 2nd inning with no one on and one out
2nd – Right Side off Brian Duensing in 9th inning with no one on and two outs

Ben Zobrist – August 1, 2015 @ Toronto
1st – Right Side off Mark Buehrle in 1st inning with no one on and one out
2nd – Left Side off Mark Lowe in 8th inning with no one on and one out

Kendrys Morales – July 2, 2016 @ Philadelphia
1st – Left Side of fAaron Mola in 2nd inning with two on and two out
2nd – Right Side off Adam Morgan in 8th inning with no one on and no outs
