Royals Acquire Ryan Jackson

The Royals have announced that they have acquired infielder Ryan Jackson from the LA Dodgers for cash considerations.

Jackson is a former 5th round pick by the St. Louis Cardinals, and had brief stints with the Cardinals big league club in both 2012 and 2013. He only managed 25 big league plate appearances.

Jackson has played 3b, 2b and short stop. How Dayton plans to use Jackson isn't immediately known but he looks to be more depth for the infield, possibly nothing more than a contingency for a rainy day. The 26 year old has shown some ability with the bat in the minor leagues, finishing with a .730OPS in 2012, but his 2014 campaign was hampered by a wrist injury that saw him barely reach the field at all.

Jackson was only recently acquired by the Dodgers off of waivers from the Padres.
