Mike Moustakas has played eight games in AAA Omaha, and suddenly the Royals feel like he’s ready to be back on the big league roster.

Almost anybody else. I would’ve preferred almost anybody else over Mike Moustakas right now. Heck, I would’ve preferred Johnny Giavotella at third. It has been EIGHT games, and while Moose has dominated AAA pitching, he simply is not ready for big league pitching right now. In eight games for Omaha, Moose hit .355 with one home run. While those numbers are…. decent, eight games is not enough of a sample size to call any player ‘fixed.’ Yes, I’m aware that they only brought him up because Danny Valencia was put on the 15 day DL (hand) but I have a sneaky suspicion that Moose would’ve been back up here anyway.

Royals will put Danny Valencia (hand) on the 15-day DL, and recall Mike Moustakas. Royals also optioned Aaron Brooks to Omaha, and activated Franscisley Bueno off of the 15-day DL. Moustakas will bat 8th in today’s lineup.
